Editorial Policy
Purpose and Standards
Drill Right exists to deliver project-first, platform-smart drill guidance grounded in evidence. Our content is written and reviewed by subject-matter experts and lab-tested so readers can make confident decisions based on real outcomes, not marketing claims.
Independence and Funding (Affiliate Disclosure)
Our recommendations are independent. We do not sell rankings, and we do not accept payment for favorable coverage. We may earn commissions when you click retailer links and make a purchase—at no extra cost to you. These affiliate relationships help fund our testing and do not influence our methods or conclusions.
Review and Fact-Checking Process
- Assignments go to an editor and a domain expert (e.g., electrician, finish carpenter, lab engineer).
- Claims must be supported by our test data or credible third-party sources; otherwise they are labeled as opinion.
- Metrics are documented with methods and units; any assumptions are disclosed.
Sources and Citations
We cite manufacturer documentation, standards bodies, and reputable technical references. When we extrapolate beyond tested conditions, we state limitations and confidence levels.
Product Samples and Access
When possible, we purchase products at retail. If a brand provides a sample, acceptance does not guarantee coverage or a favorable outcome. All samples are subjected to the same protocols. Brands cannot edit our content or see results prior to publication.
Corrections and Updates
If we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and add a note describing the change. Substantial updates (e.g., new test data or revised rankings) are dated and summarized in a changelog section of the article.
Advertising and Sponsorship
Display ads, if present, are separated from editorial content and labeled. Sponsors have no control over reviews, rankings, or test methods.
Conflicts of Interest
Contributors must disclose relevant financial or personal relationships. We do not assign reviews where a conflict could reasonably be perceived to affect objectivity.
Reader Feedback
We welcome scrutiny. Email [email protected] with data questions, corrections, or test suggestions. We review all credible feedback and integrate it into future updates when appropriate.
